SUWHA
London-based designer Suwha launches her eponymous line with a debut collection of jackets and hats for the fall 2008 season. Designed for the adventurous, independent and effortlessly stylish woman, the line is marked by clean lines, unique details and flawless construction. The line aims to fill the gap for design-focused outerwear in the contemporary fashion market.
After practicing law for five years in New York and Boston, Suwha decided to follow her heart and life-long dream of fashion design in 2006. After training for one year at London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, as well as working for London designer Avsh Alom Gur, Suwha established her label in 2007 desiring to create fashion that reflects her values, ideals and lifestyle.
Inspired by urban landscapes and architecture, the debut collection – “hello, goodbye” - focuses on clean lines and geometric details. Bold details such as stitched double leather belts, oversized buttons and pleated panels mark each unique style. Each jacket and hat also features linings in playful and colourful shirting fabrics.
Suwha collaborated with top London-based milliner Noel Stewart (he has worked with Roland Mouret, John Galliano and Erdem to name a few) in creating the hat collection.
